The Company

Ingram Micro is a Fortune 100 B2B company. Based in America, they are the world’s largest electronics and information technology distributor. They work with manufacturers such as Apple, Cisco, HP, IBM, Microsoft, and others. GoldenComm has been working with Ingram Micro since 2013, and in October 2015, our joint project IngramMicroTraining.com launched.

The Challenge

Ingram Micro has been a leader in helping thousands of resellers in their partner network achieve their business goals. However, their old website was not built with marketability in mind, and the user interface left much to be desired. With a growing portfolio of over 15,000 training courses, Ingram Micro Training had everything their audience could want, but limited ways to reach them.

The Solution

Our hard working website is a fully functional eCommerce engine that sells virtual training and certification programs. There were several key success factors to this project: Kentico EMS framework, full API/Integration with Cornerstone On Demand (e.g. CSOD) learning management system, full SEO/SEM and Marketing Automation integration to report KPI’s such as Cost Per Acqusition and Lifetime Value.

Complete Integration with CSOD

Cornerstone On Demand is a learning management system that delivers instructor-led training (ILT), virtual learning, exams, certifications, and compliance content for training and developing employees. Via an API webservice, we were able to keep all training content hosted within the CSOD system, and display it on a website with marketing in mind.

New User Interface

The user experience now takes place on a Kentico-based website, with all the data being pulled from CSOD. Building a new site from the ground up has allowed us to redesign it to be clean, modern, and in-brand. By utilizing CSOD’s robust learning management system, we were able to focus on the user interaction and improve the customer’s buying experience. We plan to continue to improve UI/UX in future development phases.

New Partnerships

GoldenComm was honored to be selected by Ingram Micro to lead this very important project. There were many notable accomplishments with this project, mainly the turn-around-time, which was four months from “go” till “launch.” While we’d love to take all the credit, a big part of our success can be attributed to our friends at Appirio, a leader in cloud-based connectivity and programming, who helped with all the in’s-and-out’s of the Cornerstone OnDemand integration. We could NOT have done the site in the time we did without them.
